Momma Rose

Momma Rose-

On Tuesday July 13th at 1:30 AM we welcomed a young dairy cow to the sanctuary. I had happened to see a picture on Facebook that was shared by a friend that does horse rescue. Rose was at a horse feedlot in PA waiting to ship to slaughter. She was so friendly that the volunteers who go to photograph horses took her picture. I spoke to the owner of the feedlot and was able to secure her freedom. I found a person to ship her up to us. Rose arrived very underweight and sick. We had our vets out within hours of her arrival. They determined she was approximately 3 years of age and was suffering from mastitis. After a quarantine she will join Crouton and Nickel. Thank you to everyone that made her rescue possible.
